Once a song sketchbook titled Sound Confinement, the album was largely committed during (and informed /inspired /triggered by) England's covid-19 lockdowns. The lyrical references –oft plundered from dead poets– narrate a eschatological reverse cycle, from a symbolic (un)birth to a return to the (dis)comfort of motherly care, and some partying in between.
